You don't want to do spoilers???? This is history not a tv show. How can you see the effects of history if you don't set it in context? Sorry stopped listening at that point.
Thank you for sharing your adventure. I am hoping for an English trip in the spring. I understand the crying... I would probably cry too.
🐑 Love sheep 🐑
Awesome video
Whistle stop tour! Love it!
Wish you had shown the wall.
What an amazing interview! I can’t wait to see the exhibition soon ❤
You look like you are having a ball ~ Enjoy!
Many thanks Rebecca and Dr Bolland for this interesting and informative discussion on the Six Queens Exhibition.
Welcome home to the mother country. Technically our history is your history too.
Your storage must be so full Rebecca! 😂 love seeing all the stops!
Glad your enjoying your trip!
Showtime totally wrote her out of the story in their show The Tudors, basically cutting off the line of rulers from James I to Charles III.
Enjoyed that ladies, thank you so much. I’ve always thought her a most interesting person. 🙏🙏🙏👵🇦🇺
The background noise was distracting in this one. 😕
The marriage would not have been annuled if it was not consumated unless someone wanted an annulment. The church doesn't police such things.
Bless you, sausage. I like your reporting style. Come to Wales
Such a fantastic topic and guest yet impossible to follow due to the very loud and distracting background voices and noises
We were at Penshurst Castle cafe and unfortunately there was no way around the background noise. Inside the building was much worse.
Lots more information than I have EVER heard of Margaret Tudor. Excellent work, ladies, but what was with all the background racket?
We sometimes forget how steeped in history our country truly is, it’s nice to get an outsiders view on it to remind us
Keep going on, with that many videos you will get a hit one day
Look forward to the interview ❤
Man , I wish I were there
NOT a "Cemetery". A burial ground in a churchyard is not a cemetery.
looking forward to hearing this. I went to the Members preview but I am sure to come back for another look!
Tell them all I said hi ! 🤣 jk
What a great conversation!!! Has there been another podcast with these two yet? Or do we know when it would be planned for? Very much enjoyed this!
I absolutely love this podcast but the gentleman is not really letting up and talking over the women. He’s very informative but very rude with talking over anyone else. Like won’t let them talk at all hardly.
How exciting! I’m so jealous in a good way!
Have fun and enjoy.
Love Leanda de Lisle
I love both is it ok
Your mic sounds amazing thanks for taking us along Rebecca
I flew from California to Detroit to London and I just knocked out on the flight from Detroit to London (thank you benadryl) but 2 days later I for sure had jetlag and I just slept because I had nothing planned on purpose in preparation for the jetlag. Luckily I was there for 15 days.
That was my dream come true when I went. I started crying when I walked through the gates. I will go back again someday.
Jane is a fascinating woman. I don't necessarily think she was unpleasant or evil. She lived in difficult times. There is so much speculation about her role in the Boleyns' downfall and whether or not she cared for her husband. She did offer him comfort when he was condemned but was it a deception on her part as a spy for Cromwell? What would she gain by having George executed anyway? She lost her status and her properties as a result. It definitely points to some deal with Cromwell and he was executed the same day that Henry married the unfortunate Catherine Howard. With Cromwell dead, did Jane, no longer required to do Cromwell's bidding, just want to see the young queen happy? Or did she arrange meetings between Queen Catherine and Culpepper out of spite for the king over the death of her husband? I actually see her as a weak and frightened woman who learned how to survive, until her role in Catherine's downfall. Maybe the young, vivacious queen bullied her into cooperating. Catherine wasn't innocent either (but did not deserve her fate of course). Jane had a mental breakdown or feigned one when she was condemned. She truly is an interesting character. I've read the novel The Raven's Widow by Adrienne Dillard, and the non-fiction historical exploration of her life by Julia Fox, both of which are sympathetic to Jane. I look forward to reading James' book as well for another point of view.
Leeds Castle is where?
❤❤❤
How was the exhibition? I can’t wait to hear all about it! ❤
I mean, I’m sure Westminster Abbey and the widely anticipated portrait exhibition were cool but hey! TRAINS! 😂❤
Welcome 💂🏿♂️
So neat!
It's amazing what nature can do for the soul ....nature is amazing
I would love the chance to meet you both. I will be at the NPG preview tomorrow and Southwark Cathedral on Saturday. Walking around Sudeley it was such a special feeling to think I could be walking in Catherine's footsteps and now I will be seeing the most beautiful of her portraits. Rebecca, I really enjoy all your interviews and Mel, sorry we lost touch and I will email you a quick update. I look forward to your reports on the Wolf Hall weekend.
Wow it looks so surreal. Hope to go one day
The church is impressive, however the Yew tree really stole the show. Many thanks for taking the time during your vacation to share this peaceful place with us.
Looks amazing !
Come to Scotland
Ooh, what a cool castle! I’m so jealous. Also, it’s like 95° over here across most of the Midwest; enjoy the clouds and cool weather!
Seeing these building has been a dream come true! I am also grateful to be missing the terrible weather back home.
This was a fantastic discussion. More Dr. Peter, please!
